“It is far from easy for most of us modern people to forge ourselves from a poet, or that by conceiving the old ones… ” A.Lajat.
Preface from ” Bleuniou Yaguankiz ” AR Yeodet A.Bocher
As an artist, today my hands seem to be extremly fragile, new to this ideal . For I wish for my words to be as fluent as possible, to express my thoughts like Springtime in the coldest days of Winter while writing of this brilliant poet , writer, nationalist, composer named Auguste Bocher.
To understand Brittany , they hold honor to their country as Auguste Bocher, Bretagne Nationalist.
The above prelude translated from French to English is from his book “Bleuniou Yaguankiz” AR Yeodet ( A.Bocher) My grandfather, Auguste Bocher. ( 1878 – 1944) A Bard, Journalist, Composer, and Member of the Gorsedd of Brittany. His works are historical.
*To place and perceive , as it should be properly translated along with conceived * the essence of his works will not be an easy task , yet I will do my best.
To touch an essence of the past is to re-establish one’s self with the past in full understanding of today. As this book was written over a 100 years ago. Before I was born, before my father was born, before any conception of his family was created. You can call it history, as an archeology project. Opening up the doors to a past thru music and poetry. ” In standing honor to Brittany , France.”
The mythology of Bretagne, France is as flourishing as it’s history, nationalism, culture, beliefs, and music. The Breton mythology have many gods and mythical creatures associated with nature, as the forests where Merlin walked along with the mythical city of Ys also spelled as Is or Ker – Is in Breton , is a mythical city that was built on the coast of Brittany and later swallowed by the ocean …as it dissapeared, as to what I am conveying here, I wish for history of person, poetry, music, and country never to dissapear for it is our heritage and a pathway to a greater future in the understanding of country. In our times today, we tend to focus on city , advanced technology, media leaving our culture to dismiss the beauty and simplicity of the past, which was never simply and the basis of our existance.
To understand the rarity of language, made clear through transmissions of the past. Some have become instinct. Anciente Bretagne is one of them . It is though the history of the past and what a magnificant past is being destroyed word by word, state by state, culture to culture . Is it our duty as artists to restore the missing treasures of art, music , history and literature. Here is a poem by Auguste Bocher in the orginal form of dialect.
